FALSE CREEK VILLAGE

The goal for False Creek Village is to create two smaller ‘homes’ within a larger structure. Each wing of the facility will accommodate residents living with moderate-to advanced-dementia and who may have complex-care needs. A key project goal has been to fully understand and address the specific needs of the users of the space in order to foster a sense of home, community, well-being, comfort and dignity. Currently, there is no cure for dementia. By creating a therapeutic physical-environment we can find ways to reduce the challenging behavioural, psychological and emotional needs of the individuals living with dementia who will call False Creek Village their home.
